Cheltenham Festival

Courtyard marquees, the Guinness Grandstand roar, and a proper day at the races — the home of jump racing, done properly.

16–19 March 2027

The Invitation

We are delighted to create your invitation

Each year, we help a small number of clients create this experience for their own guests at the Cheltenham Festival — the pinnacle of the jump racing season, and the loudest four days in British sport. Fourteen Grade One races run across the four days, the best horses, trainers and jockeys in the sport going head-to-head.

For more than thirty years we’ve been looking after racegoers here. Whether your style runs to relaxed tailoring or Michelin finery, we’ve got you covered, with good food and champagne all day at every base we use.

Tuesday’s Champion Day, Wednesday’s Ladies’ Day, Thursday’s St Patrick’s Thursday, or Friday’s Gold Cup Day — each has its own character, and we’re happy to help you pick the one that suits.

Some Context

The Roar

As the tapes go up for the very first race of the Festival, tens of thousands of racegoers erupt as one — the famous Cheltenham Roar. It’s less heard than felt, and it’s the moment that tells you the Festival has properly begun.

It happens once a day, every day of the Festival — and it’s worth timing your arrival not to miss it.

A Sample Itinerary

Your Day at the Festival

  • 10:30 Racecourse opens — complimentary bar and morning coffee
  • 12:00 Lunch is served
  • 13:20 First race — the Roar
  • 15:30 Afternoon tea
  • 17:20 Bar closes on the last race
  • 18:00 Facility closes

Timings shown are a sample and follow the official 2027 racecard once published, always tailored to the group.

Where You’ll Be

Choosing Your Base

Every group is different, so we start with where you’ll be based for the day. Justin’s happy to talk through which suits you and your guests best — and to build a proposal once we know your numbers.

Good To Know

At the Festival

Dress code

There’s no official dress code at the Festival, but the Prestbury Park crowd dresses for the occasion regardless. Suits and ties are the norm in hospitality, with plenty of hats and fascinators — though nothing like the formality of Royal Ascot.

What to bring

March in the Cotswolds can be bracing. A warm coat is no bad thing, even with a base indoors — you’ll want to be trackside for the Roar.

Hurdles & chases

A hurdle race is horses jumping hurdles, a minimum of three-and-a-half feet high. A chase is short for steeplechase, horses jumping fences at least four-and-a-half feet high — the bigger, more demanding discipline of the two.

In Their Words

“I have been fortunate to attend two events organised by Tantempleton. Both of which were incredibly well organised with an itinerary packed full of interesting, exciting and in some cases, once in a lifetime experiences.

Justin, who organised and attended both events on behalf of Tantempleton, is highly efficient and seems to have a contingency for every eventuality, and is meticulous in his planning and execution of events, whilst being warm, attentive and professional with guests.

If you are looking to organise a bespoke and memorable experience for clients, friends, or family, I could not recommend Justin and Tantempleton highly enough!”
